Learn more about targeting Promoted Email campaigns by location and artist

Updated over 5 months ago

When creating a Promoted Email campaign, you'll be able to set specific targeting parameters from the Audience section.

First, set your budget.

Next, enter the name of the city you want to target and specify the radius around that city you want to cover. The default radius is 60 miles, but you can specify a custom radius anywhere from 5 miles to 250 miles around the city. You also have the option to enter an entire state/province or country, in which case defining a radius is not possible.

Finally, enter the names of some artists whose fans you want to target. A list of suggested similar artists will appear underneath, with the number of each artist's Bandsintown followers displayed next to their name. To add similar artists, click on their names. Remove an artist from the targeting list by clicking on the x after their name.

Emails to Send shows how many emails can be sent based on your targeting criteria and budget, while the max number shows how many emails could potentially be sent with an unlimited budget.

PRO TIP: Follow these campaign best practices to optimize your targeting criteria.

Targeting multiple audiences

Click Add Audience to target music fans in different locations simultaneously as part of the same campaign by following the same steps as above.

Emails to Send will be automatically distributed among different audiences based on the number of reachable emails. If there are enough reachable emails in each audience, the emails will be evenly divided according to your budget.
