Creating a Promoted Email campaign for a single event
Updated over a week ago

PLEASE NOTE: This article pertains to creating a campaign to promote a single event. To learn how to promote multiple events, read Creating your first Promoted Email for a tour, multiple events, and more.

Set up, launch, and optimize your first Promoted Email campaign for one of your upcoming shows in just a few quick and easy steps.

Step 01: Find and pin your events

From the Events tab, find your events by entering the artist name and city and then clicking Pin to My Events. The events you select will be added to the My Events section below the search box.

If your event is missing, click Create Event to add it to Bandsintown. Learn more about Adding Events.

Step 02: Tap Promote

From the My Events section, click Promote on the event that you would like to start a Promoted Email campaign for. A campaign will be automatically drafted for you using the event artwork and details.

Step 03: Set your budget and target audience

Set your budget, add a target location and radius, and then select artists whose fans you'd like to target. By default, the location will be set to a 60 mile radius around the city where the show will take place and the artist targeting will include all artists on the event lineup.

Emails to Send shows how many emails can be sent based on your targeting criteria and budget, while the max number shows how many emails could potentially be sent with an unlimited budget.

Add multiple audiences by clicking Add Audience above the Continue button.

Step 04. Customize your email

Your email subject line, preheader text, and copy will already be written by AI and can be edited and personalized as you see fit using the Appearance and Content tabs in the left-hand panel.

  • Appearance tab: Customize the background color or image of your email as well as the font, text size, alignment and color, line spacing, link color, and button design for each section. Adjust how your email displays on mobile devices in the Mobile Formatting section.

  • Content tab: Customize the layout of your email with preset structures which can be populated by dragging and dropping blocks for images or videos, text, buttons, ticket links, social links, spacers, HTML code and more.

Undo or redo actions using the arrows in the upper-right hand corner.

Step 05. Review and send

Review your campaign details including budget, targeting, and scheduled send time, add a promo code if you have one, and click Submit Order.

Once your order is submitted, you'll receive a proof via email you need to approve before the campaign is sent out.

If you aren't ready to submit yet, click Save to save the campaign as a draft.

Manage your campaigns and measure your success

Easily view all of your drafted, scheduled, and sent email campaigns from the Campaigns tab. View, edit, duplicate, delete, and/or view insights for each campaign.

Click the three dots next to any campaign and choose Insights to view insights and analytics for it. Insights can help you better understand what resonates with your audience to help you optimize future campaigns.
